Cody attended Coastal Carolina University 2008-2010 where he recorded a 28-1 career record and was inducted to the Coastal Carolina Hall of Fame. He was then drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 5th round in 2010. Cody played in the minor leagues until 2015 when then began working as the Director of Player Development for the Canes Baseball Program.
