Luke Lowery announced as PDG Director of Player Development

PDG General Manager Jeff Petty announced on Wednesday that Luke Lowery will begin a new role within our organization as the Director of Player Development. Luke will oversee all of our players' development both on the field. Lowery was a 3 year letterwinner at ECU before getting drafted by the Diamondbacks in 2015. During his pro career Lowery was a 3x MILB All Star. He got into coaching at IMG Academy in 2019 where he spent 3 years as an assistant catching coordinator. In 2022 Lowery came to PDG Academy as the Hitting / Catching coordinator. Lowery had this to say on the promotion, “I’m very excited for this opportunity, I’m looking forward to growing our program and getting our players ready to compete at the next level.” PDG GM Jeff Petty had this to say on Luke Lowery, “I think Luke Lowery is a great baseball mind, and one of the brightest young coaches I have been around in my life. Our players here at PDG Academy are very fortunate to have someone like Coach Lowery at the Helm of our baseball development.” PDG Head Coach Anthony Burke had this to say on Lowery, “Luke has been a key part in our program's success thus far. Luke’s passion for coaching and attention to detail are unmatched. He genuinely cares about our players not just as baseball players, but as people.” PDG begins their spring season January 20th with a scrimmage against UNC-Pembroke down in Pembroke NC.
